The faculty and staff of Bennett's Mill would like to congratulate Cameron Stephens in winning the school-wide National Geographic Bee and representing BMMS at the state level this month. The state National Geographic Bee will be held at Georgia College and State University on March 30, and Cameron will compete up against some of the the best students from around the entire state of Georgia in grades four through eight.
One winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition, which will be held May 22-24 at the National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Transportation and accommodations will be provided for all national qualifiers and a teacher escort from the school that the winner attends.
The National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild will air the final round of the 2012 National Geographic Bee, moderated by Alex Trabek, on Thursday, May 24. Bennett's Mill Middle School would also like to recognize the efforts of Mrs. Cathy Carlton, the project sponsor, and all of the students who competed on the local level of this great contest.
