All seven of our science fair projects placed yesterday at the regional science fair. The team of Zach Birkhead, Christopher Cassidy, and Steve Dan were awarded a second place for their work with testing lake water in Fayette County and comparing the water quality with the surrounding population numbers. Zoe Know was awarded a first place for her work with various methods of rooting African violets.
Awarded first place and continuing on the the Georgia State Science Fair at the end of March in Athens are April Johnson for her work with various natural tints used to make solar cells, Jamie Rogers for her work with water quality and stream flow, Lindy Simmons for her work with conductance of sports drinks, Javi Slough for his work with acidity of ant stings, and the team of Hannah Lachmayr and Rebecca Stoker for their work with the effect of windspeed on sound wave frequency.
